Detailed overview of all configuration options in OldTimer Rally Timer.

👥 Team & Rally

Basic settings for your team and rally configuration.

Team Information
Start Number Your official start number for the rally (default: 1)
Team Name Optional: Name of your team or driver/navigator
Vehicle Optional: Designation of your vehicle
Start Interval Time between starts in seconds (default: 60)

Note: The app automatically calculates your personal start time: Official Start Time + (Start Number - 1) × Start Interval

📊 Trip Meter

Configuration of the GPS-based distance counter.

Distance Measurement
Unit Kilometers or Miles
Calibration Factor from 0.5x to 2.0x for GPS correction (default: 1.0)
GPS Tracking On/Off - Enables continuous GPS tracking
Decimal Places Number of decimal points (0-3)

Calibration Tip: Drive a known distance (e.g., between two kilometer markers) and adjust the factor until the displayed distance matches the actual distance.

🎨 Display

Visual settings for optimal readability.

Appearance
Theme System / Light / Dark - App color scheme
Night Mode Red-tinted display for night driving (preserves night vision)
Large Font 1.3x font enlargement for better readability
Delta Tolerance Tolerance range for "on schedule" in seconds (0-30, default: 5)

Delta Tolerance Explained: If your time delta is within this tolerance, it's shown in green ("on schedule"). Outside, it's shown in red (too slow) or orange (too fast).

🔊 Sounds

Acoustic signals for support during the rally.

Acoustic Signals
Warning Tones Acoustic warning for critical events (default: On)
Countdown Signals Tones during countdown to start (default: On)

🆘 Safety

Emergency and safety features.

Emergency
Emergency Number Phone number for the SOS button (e.g., 911)
Share GPS Coordinates Enables sharing of current location

Important: Store a valid emergency number to quickly call for help in case of emergency.

⏱️ Timer & Start

Configuration of timing behavior.

Official Start Time Start time of Team #1 (date and time)

Timer Modes Explained

  • Manual: You start timing by tapping the Start button
  • Scheduled: Timing starts automatically at the configured time
  • GPS Movement: Timing starts automatically when GPS movement is detected

🤖 AI & Scanning

Configuration of the AI-powered roadbook scanner.

AI Provider
Provider OpenAI / Claude / Google Gemini
API Key Your personal API key for the selected provider

Getting API Keys

  • OpenAI: Register at platform.openai.com and create an API key
  • Claude: Register at console.anthropic.com for an API key
  • Google Gemini: Use the Google AI Studio console for an API key

Note: Using AI APIs may incur costs depending on the provider. A ✓ next to the provider indicates a valid API key is stored.

💾 Data

Data management and export functions.

Data Management
Export CSV Exports all rally data as CSV file
Export PDF Creates a printable PDF with all results
Delete All Data ⚠️ Deletes all stored data irreversibly

Warning: Deleting all data cannot be undone! Export important data as CSV or PDF beforehand.
